Namibia

Namibia is renowned for its breath-taking landscapes, such as the Namib Desert and Spitzkoppe, its wildlife-rich national parks and its diverse culture. The Namib Desert, the world’s oldest desert, has been around for at least 55 million years. Spitzkoppe, known as the Matterhorn of Namibia, is famous for its striking granite rock formations that rise dramatically from the surrounding desert.

Namibia is home to a rich variety of life, including almost 4,000 endemic species, those found in Namibia and nowhere else. Across plains and savannas and into the desert habitat, springbok, gemsbok and black-faced impala have all seen increases in populations. Across vast home ranges, Namibia boasts the desert-adapted elephants, the largest population of black rhino on the continent and has the largest cheetah population in the world, as well as a strong lion population.

In this photo gallery, you can see pictures of Namib Desert, Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, Skeleton coast, Spitzkoppe, Etosha National Park, Okavango river, Mudumu National park and Himba tribe.
